Skogar® silica aerogel thermal barriers are used in applications where weight, thickness, fire resistance and thermal performance directly affect system design.

The main application domains are batteries, aircraft, space systems and defense platforms.

Battery thermal barrier applications include thermal runaway propagation mitigation, fire containment and passive protection of battery enclosures and venting paths.

Skogar® is relevant for inter-cell barriers, battery enclosure insulation, gas venting ducts, sealing interfaces, modular packs and CTP, CTB and CTC architectures.

## Aircraft

Aircraft thermal barrier applications include lightweight thermal and fire protection for aircraft zones where material thickness, weight, certification and system safety are part of the design constraint.

Typical aircraft use cases include engine bays, electric aviation, liquid hydrogen tanks, cabin insulation, fire-zone insulation, hybrid-electric aircraft and eVTOL platforms.

Space thermal barrier applications include advanced thermal insulation for space systems exposed to vacuum, radiation, cryogenic storage, thermal cycling, re-entry heating and planetary environments.
